Vážení váleční veteráni, generálové, národní prezidenti, vedoucí pracovníci a členové naší nevládní organizace,
Některé dny nesou větší váhu a tíži než jiné, některé dny poznamenají mysl a někdy i celý svět. 24.
Jsme svědky rozkolu v mezinárodním právu a porušení Charty Organizace spojených národů.
„General Officers, National Presidents, executives and members of our NGO,
Some days carry more weight and gravitas than others, some days that mark the mind and at times the entire world. February 24, 2022 is one of those days. We all discovered with shock that war in Europe was still a real possibility, despite all our efforts to keep the shadow of war far away. I think back to our ancestors in the First World War, the Second World War or in the former Yugoslavia 30 years ago.
If we are able to witness a rupture in international law and a violation of the United Nations Charter, we can only think of the men and women in Russia and Ukraine, two countries in which SPIA/AISP is active and particularly attached to. It is thanks to these men and women that SPIA/AISP was able to discover their countries, their cultures and their ways of being.
We leave it to the diplomats and politicians to resolve this conflict, and are focused instead on organizing and maintaining a dialogue. In order to confront the humanitarian disaster, SPIA/AISP is launching an operation that will help the most desperate, the uprooted and the displaced. The SPIA/AISP is honored to have among its members sections in Central and Eastern Europe with whom we wish to cooperate in order to carry out our initiative.
Let us be those peacemakers, those Blue Helmets that we once were so that the beret that we wear on our heads unites us and binds our hearts together forever. SPIA/AISP is aware of the difficulties linked to this operation but with your support in the coming months, we may establish a humanitarian bridge that will come to the rescue of those who are currently in the greatest need.“
